Because it annoys me. I also like how you ask me to understand the reasons for this shipping, and tell me its not shipping for shipping sake..and then not give me reasons for the shipping.

I just hate shipping. It is a pointless excercise in my mind. Two characters that will never be gay, made gay in your head, for no real reason.

First, I wasn’t going to list all the reasons why I ship two characters on deaf ears, and I also assumed that you read a healthy amount of Marvel Comics and were aware of Captain America and Iron Man’s relationship that you could see how I was not just pulling this out of thin air or just shipping them together, because “they like OMG totally look so hott together <3 <3”.

Now I could just post a bunch of slashy out of context moments, but I feel that the moments in context speak of themselves. You should also know that I would never ship anything without basis in the canon and it’s blaring, so much so that when I first started reading I assumed in all honesty, that they were an actual homosexual couple.

Steve Rogers and Tony Stark clearly love each other, and that’s not just some fan girl looking through slash glasses. It is canon that they are they are teammates, friends, partners and they love each other.

All this is canon, I’m not reading anything more than what I was being presented with. So why do I ship them together, I ship them because they love each other and the comics seem to tease a romantic relationship with these characters.

I am not making characters gay nor do I believe that Steve Rogers or Tony Stark sexual orientation is homosexual.  Because homosexuality as a sexual orientation, refers to “an enduring pattern of or disposition to experience sexual, affectional, or romantic attractions, primarily or exclusively to people of the same sex; “. They are not homosexuals based on their past relationships with people of the opposite sex, that is clear, but I believe that their relationship could become romantic in the future if it isn’t already.

Even if shipping is a pointless exercise it’s my pointless exercise. I honestly think that if it were a heterosexual couple I were shipping you wouldn’t have a problem but some how the idea of Captain America and Iron Man being together really seems to annoy you.
